Director of Healthcare Facilities & Engineering Operations
We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Management to lead our hospital's engineering, biomedical, security, and emergency management operations. This senior leadership position offers an opportunity to drive operational excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct comprehensive facilities operations including Engineering, Biomedical Services, Security, and Emergency Management programs
- Ensure regulatory compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and NFPA standards while serving as hospital Safety Officer
- Manage multi-million dollar operational and capital construction budgets
- Oversee facility renovation and construction projects across main hospital campus and satellite locations
- Direct preventive maintenance programs and infrastructure improvements
- Supervise department personnel and manage third-party service contracts
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and maintain building safety standards
- Develop and implement emergency management and security protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years of facilities management experience in healthcare settings
- Demonstrated experience with Joint Commission compliance and surveys
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and building codes
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Professional certifications (CHFM, CFM, PE)
- Additional technical certifications or specialized training
- Experience with healthcare construction projects and capital planning
