We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Infection Prevention to join our prestigious 612-bed academic medical center, which includes a Children's Hospital. This pivotal leadership role will spearhead our infection control initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate organizational infection control strategies
- Lead a team of 4 direct reports in the Infection Prevention department
- Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations
- Conduct outbreak investigations and surveillance
- Collaborate with CDC, county, and state health departments
- Educate staff on infection prevention best practices
- Analyze and present data on infection trends and prevention outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement in infection control measures
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Public Health preferred
- Current RN license (or ability to obtain Georgia RN license within 6 months)
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Infection Prevention or related field
- 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong background in epidemiology and infectious diseases
- Expertise in data analysis and presentation
- Experience leading infection prevention programs in large acute care facilities
