Position Overview
As the Director of Surgical Services, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all perioperative services, including the OR, PACU, and sterile processing departments. This role combines clinical expertise with business acumen to optimize surgical services delivery while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing perioperative team of 24/7 operations
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance surgical services quality and efficiency
- Drive operational excellence through performance improvement and quality assurance programs
- Manage departmental budget and resource allocation effectively
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Foster physician partnerships and enhance surgeon satisfaction
- Implement evidence-based practices to advance patient care outcomes
- Oversee staff development, engagement, and retention initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
- Current RN licensure in state of practice
- Minimum 3 years recent acute care management experience in perioperative services
- Demonstrated leadership and operational management expertise
- Strong financial acumen and business planning skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
- CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager) certification
- Experience in Magnet-designated facilities
