Emergency Department Nurse Manager - Level I Trauma Center
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Emergency Department Nurse Manager to lead our fast-paced, state-of-the-art emergency department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure exceptional patient care delivery in our Level I Trauma Center.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of 45 direct reports within a 64 FTE emergency department
- Drive clinical excellence through implementation of evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure optimal patient care delivery
- Oversee departmental operations, including budget management and regulatory compliance
- Foster a positive work environment through mentorship, professional development, and team building
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Handle conflict resolution and address patient, family, and physician concerns
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies
Required Qualifications:
- Current Tennessee RN license or compact state licensure
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department clinical experience
- 1-3 years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care setting
- BCLS certification (or instructor status within 30 days of hire)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in staff development and performance management
