What You’ll Do:

As Microbiology Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations and lead a high-performing microbiology department within a central laboratory that supports an entire healthcare division. Your focus will be on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and delivering high-quality diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily technical and non-technical microbiology operations in a central lab environment.

• Collaborate with Division and Regional Directors to meet goals related to service quality, regulatory standards, financial performance, and patient satisfaction.

• Monitor and analyze resource utilization, including staffing, supplies, and revenue data to optimize department performance.

• Coach, mentor, and develop a talented team of supervisors and technologists.

• Recruit, interview, and select top-tier professionals for open departmental roles.

• Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory standards.

• Support occasional travel across the division for leadership and integration initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science from a NAACLS-accredited program.

• National certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) required.

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ supervisory experience in microbiology within a central or high-volume bacteriology lab.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage lab personnel effectively.

• Strong understanding of microbiology workflows, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
