Qualifications :
Minimum of high school diploma, with post-secondary education preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Skilled in public relations.
Competent with computer / software operations.
Prompt in job-related functions and punctual in work schedule.
Effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
Adherence to ethical work habits, including confidentiality.
Other, as immediate supervisor deems appropriate and necessary.
Traits / Skills :
Proficient in typing, word processing, file maintenance, computers, bookkeeping, and use of general office equipment.
Knowledgeable regarding school district organization and operations.
Cooperative with others, including supervisors, peers, teachers, parents, and students.
Poised and self controlled in decision making and problem solving.
Groomed and dressed appropriately for the position and responsibility.
Job Functions :
Coordinate the discipline referral correspondence to parents.
Provide the attendance clerk and teachers a list of students on ISS or OSS status.
Assist students, teachers, and parents, as appropriate.
Receive incoming calls; reliably take messages and route to appropriate staff and / or students.
Keep informed of and comply with all state and district policies and regulations regarding job functions.
Responsibly perform secretarial duties to assure smooth and efficient office operations.
Maintain a daily teacher attendance log and the records for substitute teachers.
Secure substitute teachers as required for teacher absences.
Monitor personnel time records to include sick leave, vacation, and special requests.
Participate in staff development.
Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and data.
Provide completed forms and information required by the district administrative offices.
