As Construction Laborer, you will play a key role in assisting with the digging, removal, and preparation of sites for various construction activities with the leadership of the Excavation Foreman. - Ensuring all tasks are completed safely by following OSHA regulations, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to jobsite safety protocols.
- Performing physical tasks such as lifting, digging, carrying, backfilling, raking, compacting, trenching, and clearing debris to ensure a clean and organized work site.
- Required to support the overall team by completing a variety of tasks which can include building concrete forms, prepping concrete slabs, cleaning job sites, landscaping/hardscaping, and demo projects.
- Capable of operating machinery safely and responsibly such as backhoes, excavators, skid steers and bulldozers to dig trenches, foundations, and utilities. Minimal experience required training will be provided.
- Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to keep in good working condition.
- Working closely with other construction workers, including laborers, engineers, supervisors, and other tradesman to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the work.
- Assist with other related tasks as required to meet the needs of the job site.
- Limited experience necessary. Will train the right candidate.
- Provide attention to detail and takes quick action on any task to ensure responsiveness and results in an organized and efficient manner.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ensuring accuracy in excavation to avoid mistakes that could affect the project or the safety of the site.
- Ability to learn how to operate and maintain heavy machinery used in excavation.
- Capability to perform demanding physical tasks, including lifting, digging, and carrying materials of up to 50lbs and up to 100lbs with assistance devices.
- Identifying challenges that may arise during excavation and finding solutions to keep the project moving forward.
- Effectively communicating with team members, supervisors, and other construction professionals to coordinate efforts.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may work in an outdoor environment, exposed to adverse weather conditions as well as dirt and/or dust.
