Purpose
This position is being hired to train and assume duties of the Bakery Store Manager. Oversee the creation of consistently excellent products and customer service. Ensures that the stores are running smoothy and consistently. Manage catering orders. Train and oversee bakery staff. This individual sets the tone, pace, and Bakery Family environment for the baking crew and must lead by example with dignity and respect for their crew members.

Examples of Duties
· Opens the bakery for staff to start their shifts.
· Oversees baking team’s day to day tasks and performance.
· Cross-trains all baking team members to ensure all roles and responsibilities are filled daily, but that staff are capable of assisting and filling in for one-another as necessary.
· Assists ownership in setting the baking team work schedules.
· Manages day to day labor costs associated with the baking team (i.e., ensuring clock-in and clock-outs are accurate, ensuring scheduled shift times are adhered to, communicating to ownership when the bakery is under- or over-staffed).
· Manages the day to day costs of goods related to the bakery production schedule and that production is completed with minimal waste.
· Assists ownership with completing inventory on a set schedule and place necessary baking-related orders as requested.
· Actively works to identify areas where efficiency could be improved upon to reduce costs of labor and costs of goods.
· Verifies that all production (i.e., sponge & dough, kneading, and baking) records are completed for each day’s production work and that all daily task and cleaning lists are completed by staff.
· Works with the Oven Baker to ensure product consistency, identify product anomalies, concerns, issues, and unsellable items, and determines which products are in need of quality control assessment.
· Oversees the process of ensuring that orders are pulled and reserved for pickup/delivery and that the delivery schedule is met each day to both external customers and all spoke stores.
· Follows all company policies and procedures and ensures the baking team adheres to them too.
· Maintains first in, first out (FIFO) inventory practices and appropriately documents low inventory for ordering purposes.
· Oversees regular inventory counts and ordering for baking-related items; collaborates with the Front-of-House Manager to ensure necessary inventory items that cross-over with their vendors are ordered in appropriate timeframes.
· Drives oversight of, and adherence to, all food safety and equipment safety practices dictated by policy and state or federal regulation.
· Conducts screening interviews of candidates provided by management for baking team openings and makes recommendations to ownership of applicants that should be interviewed by ownership; participates in second interview cycle with ownership; oversees trial work period for final baking team candidate and makes final retention recommendation to ownership based on qualifications and criteria set by ownership.
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned and takes initiative to enhance the bakery’s quality and consistency.
· Remains available for extra hours during the holiday seasons as needed (Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas at a minimum), and fills in for staff that are sick or miss their shift.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Must be 18 years of age.
2. Must be dependable and work all scheduled shifts.
3. Must exhibit high standards of personal and facility cleanliness.
4. Must be able to lift and carry loads of 60 pounds and perform other physically strenuous mixing tasks throughout the production shift.
5. Must be able to remain standing throughout an entire 8 hour shift.
6. Must be consistently on time, maintain a positive attitude, maintain a positive working relationship with owners and fellow co-workers, work efficiently, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Experience
Stable work history required. Restaurant management or supervision experience required, two years of experience preferred. Managerial or supervisory experience preferred. History of working in or overseeing fast-paced, high-volume production preferred.
