Great Hearts Academies is a growing network of 49 classical liberal arts academies across Phoenix (AZ), Baton Rouge (LA), Dallas/Ft. Worth (TX), San Antonio (TX), and Florida (fall of 2026). We currently provide over 28,000 K-12 students with access to a high quality, classical liberal arts education, without the barriers that often come with private prep schools. We gladly prepare our graduates for success in the best universities in the nation, but our main purpose is the formation of the soul, heart, and mind. We believe that the highest goal of education is to become good, intellectually and morally. Teaching certification is not required for general education, and we hire teachers from across all academic disciplines and departments.
Work Authorization - US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates. Great Hearts is an equal opportunity employer.
Fine Arts at Great Hearts:
- Fine Arts are not just electives but part of the core curriculum at Great Hearts: all students study music, drama, poetry and studio art.
- Studio Art coursework includes both “applied” focus on technique and imitation of masterworks, as well as substantive arts history, and appreciation.
- We boast a stellar faculty across the fine arts curriculum, most of whom are professional artists and performers.
K-5 grade Music Theory and Performance:
- Music - (K-5) - This course focuses on basic theory, classical music history, and choral performance
- Certification is not required to teach at any of the Great Hearts Academies. Great Hearts teachers, whether certified or not, demonstrate a commitment to and love for the liberal arts. However, Great Hearts does ask that our teachers be able to demonstrate they are qualified to teach the subjects they are assigned.
