Construction Project Engineer
Established high end residential building company is seeking a Project Engineer with a Construction Management or similar degree. Applicants must be professional, detail oriented, organized, computer savvy, and should exhibit a passion for building and customer service. An ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of residential / commercial or related experience in the Santa Barbara area (Montecito, Hope Ranch, Santa Ynez, etc.). An ideal candidate would be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and be able to use other computer programs as needed. Position provides great opportunity for hand on experience as the job requires work in field office, daily on-site involvement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Reading and interpreting plans; developing RFIs
- Examining subcontractor bids
- Developing detailed subcontractor scope outlines
- Coordinating site visits in the field with supervisors, subcontractors / suppliers
- Coordinating meetings with supervisor, project manager, client, consultants, etc.
- Ability to compose clear, professional emails; communicate effectively
Candidate should be prepared to provide several professional references from the local contractor / subcontractor / engineer / architect community.
