Great Island Homeowners’ Association, a community of homes nestled on a peninsula between Lewis Bay and Nantucket Sound, is currently seeking a year round, part time Gate Attendant. Candidates for this position should be energetic, accommodating, and display a positive attitude. At times, the work environment at Great Island can be busy and this position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: General Manager
Primary Job Function: To greet homeowners, and provide authorized access to guests, staff, and service providers.
Essential Duties:
- Provide a friendly greeting to all arrivals to the Island. Verify their destination, and provide visitor passes as required.
- Keep log of all arrivals, including capturing license plates
- Be familiar with the various Great Island residential areas; provide directions as required
- Answer the phone in a polite, courteous tone. Address homeowners’ requests in a timely manner.
- Notify homeowners by phone when visitors or trades persons arrive
Requirements:
- Must be at least age 18, be able to read and speak English, and have good listening skills
- The gate attendant must have working knowledge of appropriate etiquette, politeness and professional demeanor when dealing with the public.
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements: the job usually requires standing on hard surfaces for long periods of time in order to greet guests.
Pay: starting at $16.00 per hour
