We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. This role is critical in ensuring that shipping and receiving processes run smoothly while adhering to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to transport materials and products throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments with precision, ensuring that all items are handled safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety protocols.
- Assist in building pallets for shipping and receiving operations, ensuring proper stacking techniques are followed.
- Participate in training sessions on heavy equipment operation and safety practices as required.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and clamp trucks.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while communicating clearly with supervisors and colleagues.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes within a distribution center setting.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling inventory management tasks.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy loads as needed.
