What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Driver (Newport, KY) position at Great Lakes Ace Hardware?

This position is located at :

82 D Carothers Road, Newport, Kentucky 41071

Work with stores and service center to ensure that stores and / or customers receive all items that need to be delivered. Support other departments when needed including but not limited to assembling grills and other products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Grill Delivery -Deliver assembled grills to stores and customers house.
May include deliveries of other items such as lawn mowers, snow throwers and other home goods.
Home Delivery -Pick up items order from local Ace Hardware locations and deliver to customer.

RELATIONSHIPS

Maintain open lines of communication with all store associates, store supervisors, and the Support Center personnel.

Outstanding customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to acquire and maintain a valid driver's license to drive a commercial vehicle, such as a cargo van or box truck, (CDL not required) follow printed load and route sheets, along with the use of a delivery application on a handheld device.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

A high school education is preferred. No prior experience is necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
