MSHS Bus Driver/Janitor - Napoleon, OH
Seasonal - 35 weeks per year
Part Time - 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 5:15AM-7:45AM and 2:00PM-4:30PM
Pay 23.23 per hour
Summary: Responsible for providing safe and timely transportation of children for program activities in the MSHS program in compliance with state, federal and local requirements. Performs custodial duties to ensure a safe and clean environment for staff, children, and families.

Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and CDL with School Bus Endorsement.
Experience:
One to three years' experience transporting children and up to one year cleaning experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
As a condition of employment, the following are additional requirements:
- Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record.
- Initial and periodic physical exams required.
- Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
- Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Bus Driver
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state and local transportation requirements.
- Conduct all required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle each day the vehicle is driven. Report suspected problems or concerns immediately to the Support Services Coordinator.
- Assist in training bus monitors.
- Ensure that emergency supplies and other equipment are maintained and properly stored or mounted in the vehicle in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Obey all applicable laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers.
- Conduct required checks at the end of each run to ensure the bus is empty and that all children are accounted for.
- Follow and maintain route schedule. Communicate immediately with staff when a parent is not home or there are problems with the route.
- Ensure children are released only to an authorized individual according to agency policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with bus monitor to ensure children are following safe riding practices and procedures on and off the bus.
- Maintain accurate records regarding the vehicle and the children who are being transported.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment inside and outside the bus through regular cleanings.
- Attends annual classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel instruction to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation and transportation of children.
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
Janitor
- Maintain building and grounds; ensure they are clean and safe.
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, bathrooms and other common spaces.
- Provide routine maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
- Provide outdoor tasks such as snow removal, mowing, trimming of shrubs and trees, and sweeping up debris.
- Maintain supply inventory; request cleaning supplies as needed.
- Arrange tables and classroom equipment as needed.
- Report safety, sanitation, and fire hazards to supervisor.
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in the team process, both within the department and the corporation.
- Attend internal and external meetings.
- Pursue continuous education and professional development opportunities.
- Travel out-of-town with occasional overnight stays.
- May occasionally be required to work in excess of scheduled work hours per week in order to fulfill position requirements.
