MSHS Infant Toddler Teacher - 26 Mechanics Street, Shiloh, OH 44878

Seasonal - 42 weeks per year 

Full Time - 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Bachelor's - $23.23; Associates or CDA - $21.83 per hour

 

Summary:  Assist teachers with the daily operations of the MSHS program in compliance with all policies, procedures, licensing, and funding requirements.

Education:

Required Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. or High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

According to the Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007 employees in this position must have a child development associate (CDA) credential, be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years or have an associate or baccalaureate degree. 

Experience:

Up to one-year experience in early childhood development and up to one-year experience with word processing and internet software.  Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is preferred.

 

As a condition of employment the following are additional requirements:

  1. Initial and periodic physical exams required.
  2. Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
  3. Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.    Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate activities and strategies which support the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of preschool children.
2.    Assist with providing an age-appropriate learning environment that allows for individual differences. 
3.    Assist with promoting and encouraging a positive learning environment and nurturing teacher child interactions.
4.    Substitute for teaching staff; assist with classroom activities.
5.    Organize, sanitize, and store classroom equipment and supplies.
6.    Recruit and direct volunteers.
7.    Assist in conducting 2 educational home visits per child per year.
8.    Maintain accurate records and submit records as requested.
