MSHS Infant Toddler Teacher - 476 North Dayton-Lakeview Road, New Carlisle, OH 45344

Seasonal - 40 weeks per year 

Full Time - 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Bachelor's - $23.23; Associates or CDA - $21.83 per hour

 

Summary:  Responsible for the care and supervision of a MSHS infant/toddler classroom in compliance with all policies, procedures, licensing and funding requirements.

Education:

Required Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with course work in Infant Toddler Development.

 

Experience:

One to three years' experience working in early childhood development and up to one year experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, internet, and database software.  Prefer one year experience working with infants and toddlers in a classroom or childcare setting. Ability to read, write and speak Spanish.

 

As a condition of employment, the following are additional requirements:

  1. Initial and periodic physical exams required.
  2. Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
  3. Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate and develop classroom experiences as defined in written plans for Education, Health, Mental Health, Nutrition, Parent Involvement, Social Services and Transportation.
  2. Ensure implementation of all licensing, Ohio’s Infant Toddler Guidelines, (PITC) Parent Infant Toddler Care giver Guidelines and Head Start Performance Standards.
  3. Serve as liaison between families, coordinators, parent committees and/or local school districts; maintain positive community relations.
  4. Provide developmentally appropriate care for infant/toddler growth and development as recommended by NAEYC when planning and implementing activities.
  5. Ensure an approved current lesson plan is completed and posted.
  6. Ensure all screenings and ongoing assessments are completed and entered within required timelines.
  7. Conduct 2 educational home visits per child per year, maintaining effective communication with parents regarding child development information.
  8. Maintain and submit records as requested; assist with in-kind documentation.
  9. Direct and train Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistants, and Volunteers.
  10. Maintain certifications and credentials including Day Care Licensing and Professional Requirements.
  11.  Develop and implement systems to monitor daily communication, activities tracking and scheduling.
  12. Assist in recruitment and enrollment as requested.
