What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at GREAT LAKES DATA RACKS & CABINETS?
- Final Inspection of Datacom and BOX Enclosures.
- Thorough examination of electrical wiring to NEC Code and electrical schematics on engineering drawings.
- Ensure all electrical terminations are visually and mechanically checked.
- Completion of mechanical and electrical inspection quality checklist to ensure all defined requirements are met.
- Perform in-process and final testing of BOX enclosure electrical systems as required.
- Ensure all electrical testing is performed as required, and acceptance is documented.
- Confirm all electrical components are ready for customer install.
- Thorough visual examination of products, dimensional measurement and other verification activities with duties varying from inspection in Receiving, In-Process, and Final.
- Report defective conditions immediately upon detection to appropriate parties so that disposition, such as rework, is assigned to responsible parties.
- Communicate with the quality management, production leaders, and assembly personnel to prevent shipment of defects, to ensure correction of defects, and to prevent recurring defects.
- Communicate with quality team to monitor trends and to identify improvement needs and plans.
- Initiate Nonconformance Material Reports and Corrective Action Requests
- Accept other responsibilities or projects as assigned by the quality manager.
Qualifications:
- Proficient reading electrical schematics and/or previous experience with electrical wiring.
- Knowledge and/or experience with the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Understanding of electrical testing and testing equipment.
- Ability to create Inspection Checklists as needed.
- Proficient reading engineering drawings, work orders, and other technical instructions.
- Proficient with measurement equipment such as calipers, protractors, tape measures, gages, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, proficient in application of PC.
- Quality-focused, organized, and passionate about GLDRC quality performance.
- High degree of attention to detail. Scrutinize products closely and consistently to detect defects.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- Self motivated with a high degree of personal accountability.
- Strong willed, determined, and able to accept criticism without affecting morale.
- Ability to display resilience in times of stress and pressure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
