As a Cleaning Services Specialist, you are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building in which the employee will perform various cleaning duties to ensure a healthy and safe environment for patients and other staff members. Let’s delve into the key duties and qualifications:
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, etc. of restrooms. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
· Sweeps, mops, vacuum floors using brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners. Other floor work may be required such as scrubbing and/or getting spots out of carpet.
· Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops and chairs of exam rooms. Replenishes supplies.
· Maintains cleanliness of waiting rooms and front office – dusts furniture, partitions, etc. Cleans and disinfects sinks and drinking fountains.
· Cleans entrance and exit doors.
· Empties wastebaskets and trash and transports to disposal area outside.
· Cleans walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, partitions, sills, etc.
· Reports equipment problems or related to supervisor.
· Ensures cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner.
· Complies with proper safety policies and procedures as required by GLEC policy or by label use of chemicals or equipment.
· Ensures all office and outside doors are closed and locked.
Reasoning Ability:
Understands organization’s objectives and how role contributes. Ability to collaborate as a team and as a member of a team. Ability to organize, prioritize, and have time management skills. Ability to work extended work hours beyond normal work schedule to include but not limited to evenings, extended shifts, and or extra shifts on short notice. Ability to determine neatness, accuracy, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Physical Demands:
Must be in good physical and mental health. Must be able to transport equipment, materials, supplies, and other items. Must be able to ascend/descend stairs/ladders, constantly positioning self to perform cleaning duties. Must be able to reach, grasp, push, and pull objects, using repetitive arm movements. Ability to cope with stress, prioritizing and performing tasks in high-pressure environments.

Potential exposure to fumes, dust gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable disease. Awareness of exposure as a high-risk environment.
