Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team in managing the purchasing process. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our supply chain operates smoothly by assisting with inventory management, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Inputs purchase orders into ERP system, organizes order acknowledgments, initiate revision of documents when appropriate
· Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, reference #’s and other pertinent data fields.
· Provide support to Executives, Supply Chain Managers, Sales Staff and Lumber Traders, “the Team,” assisting in the preparation of Purchase Order, Inventory, Sales, and usage reports.
· Provide support on pricing management tools.
· Other duties may be assigned or reassigned at any time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to shift with deadlines
- Superior data entry skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office, Strong Excel Skills Preferred
Education and Experience
- Two year’s related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; required in Supply Chain
- Experience with ERP software systems
