Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ophthalmology clinic, providing exceptional care to patients while adhering to the highest standards of safety and professionalism. We are a single physician office with a single location dedicated to New Baltimore and the surrounding area. Monday through Friday no weekends and no evenings.
Duties
- Assist ophthalmologist with patient exams, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and ophthalmoscopy.
- Perform various diagnostic tests, including retinoscopy, visual fields, and perimetry and refraction.
- Administer eye drops as directed by the medical team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical records systems such as EMA by Modernizing Medicine.
- Provide patient education on eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Perform administrative tasks, including returning phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Maintain anatomy knowledge and stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an ophthalmic technician program or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in ophthalmic anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as EMA by Modernizing Medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
