Bus Drivers are more than drivers; they are the liaisons between our participants and our health care team and a vital part of what makes PACE special. Our drivers get PACE participants to the center and home so they can live comfortably in their own environment.

Transportation Coordinator and/or Center Manager
Basic Job Duties:
- Provides transportation services to participants that could be physically limited to their varied destinations. Will be required to drive a specially equipped van/bus and assist passengers getting on and off safely.
- Door to door service for the participants.
- Will be required to interact with the participants, which includes pushing/pulling their wheelchair, and helping assist them when needed. Examples of other expectations to help them; putting on/taking off their coats, helping with shoes. You will be hands on with the participants.
- The driver will assure that the van/bus remains clean and in safe working condition at all times.
- Must develop and sustain a good rapport with participants, family, caregivers, staff, and other agencies.
- Must be flexible as schedules can change with the demands of participant care. Working beyond business hours and availability on weekends and holidays. Will rotate being on call.
Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent
- At least one year experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs
- One year working with the frail elderly population, preferred to have some caregiver/CNA experience
- A valid Michigan Driver’s License and Chauffer's License, with an excellent driving record
- DOT physical will be required upon hire and renewal. Able to lift/transfer/pull up to 180lbs frequently and up to 250lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an health care environment, assisted living facility, or a nursing home preferred
