Description
The primary focus of the HR Generalist is to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department, employees, and managers within the company.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, managers, and third parties referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Assists with maintaining employee personnel files and DOT Driver Qualification Files.
- Keeps HR and Safety team informed of Driver violations, as well as expiring licenses and DOT medical certificates and endorsements.
- Assists with recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and training.
- Provides administrative support including record-keeping, file maintenance, invoice coding, and HRIS entry.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Creates and implements employee engagement plans and activities.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Books travel arrangements for employees as needed.
- Monitors, maintains, and tracks employee geofences and attendance.
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory changes, trends, and best practices in human resources and employment law.
- Receives and processes incoming correspondence, notices, etc.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements
- 2-4 years’ experience in a Human Resources role required.
- Must have HRIS experience (Paylocity experience preferred, not required).
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple HR disciplines, thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite (particularly Outlook and Excel) required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess excellent judgment to prioritize work, handle multiple projects, and meet objectives.
- Exhibits positive attitude with a high level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.
- This is a full-time, onsite position.
