Great Lakes Roofing Corp. (GLRC) has been completing commercial and industrial roofing projects across the Midwest for over 40 years. We’ve recently opened a branch in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to best serve our customers further across the region. GLRC seeks a face-of-the-company Outside Sales Pioneer to champion our brand around town. Responsibilities of an Outside Sales Pioneer:

  • Cultivate a client network with diverse needs (large/small, immediate/long-term). You’ll generate leads through door-to-door canvassing, networking events, and referrals.
  • Manage the Sales Pipeline from introduction through to customer satisfaction reviews; document your daily activities (calls, sales, lost business, etc) in the CRM.
  • Conduct Roof Inspections - From up on the roof, identify damaged areas and recommend the best solutions to the building’s owner via in-person conversations. 
  • Secure the sales agreement, which often includes negotiating contracts. 
  • Build relationships with clients to establish brand trust and serve as their ongoing roofing consultant.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

In exchange for being the local face of GLRC and servicing our customers with integrity, we fairly compensate with a base salary paid weekly, uncapped commissions and bonus plans, a company pick-up truck, and all the tools you’ll need to perform your duties (rooftop tools and techy ones).

Physical Requirements to Perform as Outside Sales Pioneer:

  • Overhead lifting of 50lbs several times per day
  • Ability to lift, carry, set up, and use a 3-story ladder several times per day
  • Climb ladder carrying 30-40lbs of gear 
  • Able to work outside in all types of weather while on rooftops
  • Take and record accurate measurements
  • Correctly map out rooftop data for the estimating team
 

Requirements for Outside Sales Pioneer: 

  • Experience: We’re looking for a proactive sales professional with proven track records in strategy, effort, and persistence. 
    • Time spent as an insurance adjustor or realtor can be a plus. Previous experience in roofing and/or construction, repair or estimation would help too.
    • Driver’s Licence that is clean and insurable
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; 
    • Networking and lead generation through various methods; 
    • Technical proficiency such as CRM, Microsoft Office, iPhone and its apps;
    • Organizational and Time Management skills; 
    • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build relationships; 
    • Independent work ethic of a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision; 
    • Problem-solving to address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly;

Pay: Base salary starts at $60,000 annually (DOE) paid weekly; 
PLUS unlimited earning potential with commission/Bonuses - expected on-target earnings achieve $150,000 annually
