YOUR FIRST CHOICE FOR ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS
Systems & Network Engineer
- Location: Milwaukee, WI ( 6150 N Flint Rd, Milwaukee WI 53209)
- Job Type: Full Time / Salary
- Travel: Up to and not limited to 5%
- Pay: $75,000-95,000
- Reports to: Associate Director of IT (Michael Gallipeau)
We’re looking for a hands-on, adaptable, and growth-minded Network & Systems Engineer to be a key part of our technology team. This role is the go-to position for infrastructure and support needs across the company—ranging from designing secure networks to troubleshooting user issues and everything in between.
This is a fully onsite position based at our Milwaukee, WI headquarters.
You’ll work closely with the Associate Director of Technology to shape the direction of our IT environment, while also owning support responsibilities from Level 1 to Level 3—whether that’s helping a user reset a password or troubleshooting a firewall rule.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, and wants to expand their technical skillset across a wide range of systems and platforms. You’ll have real ownership, broad exposure, and the chance to build and improve infrastructure rather than just maintain it.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design & Maintenance
- Design, configure, and maintain secure, high-performance network and system architectures, including VLANs, firewalls, WAPs, and VPNs (Site-to-Site and User SSL).
- Administer and optimize internal servers and services: Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and virtual machines.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, switches, DNS/DHCP, and Radius servers with a focus on uptime, security, and scalability.
- Perform system patching, firmware upgrades, and contribute to ongoing improvement of the overall infrastructure footprint.
- Plan and execute systems upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
- Full-Scope Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of contact for all technical issues—providing Level 1 through Level 3 support across hardware, software, and infrastructure-related problems.
- Own the entire user lifecycle, including onboarding, provisioning, and deprovisioning of user accounts and equipment.
- Partner with end users and team leads to resolve day-to-day issues and proactively identify recurring pain points.
- Support and maintain laptops, printers, monitors, and mobile/remote devices.
- Documentation & Optimization
- Regularly document network topologies, system configurations, and internal processes to support continuity and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain accurate records of IT inventory, software licensing, firmware updates, and service agreements.
- Continuously evaluate systems and workflows for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
