Compensation
$73,593.96 - $133,027.50(Based on Experience)
Summary
Independently carries out procurement activities related to goods, professional services, and construction contracts in support of organizational needs. May also supervise team members and support team members to ensure timely and accurate bidding, purchase order creation, and inventory control. Engages in vendor relationship management. Ensures principles of integrity, transparency, and fairness in the procurement process. Creates reports and analysis related to procurement activities. Facilitates the integration of new technology and modernized business processes.Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that all GLWA staff follow the GLWA Procurement Policy.
- Responsible for procurement activities for professional services and construction contracts on the enterprise team including solicitations, contract development and purchase orders.
- Supervises other team members including performance management, mentoring, scheduling and training
- Support team members to ensure accurate processes are followed and meet deadlines
- Foster vendor relationships
- Maintain and continuously improve relationships with Enterprise Group departments staff
- Create reports, conduct analysis and manage special projects as assigned
- Participate in the maintenance and development of procurement software
- Attend off-site meetings and attend GLWA site visits as needed
- Step in to assist where needed when Enterprise Group Buyers may be unavailable
- Collaborate with other Management Professionals within Procurement to ensure consistency between Water, Wastewater and Enterprise Group procurement staff
- Participate in Procurement professional development activities on site and off site including Professional Procurement organizations such as MPPOA and NIGP conferences and seminars
- Attend Vendor Outreach conferences
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a related area
- Three (3) years of recent procurement experience preferably in a municipal or public utility setting
Preferred Experience
- Two (2) years supervisory experience
- Experience with contract development activities
Other Requirements
- Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License
