Job Purpose
The Vice President, Government Relations will lead Great Minds' efforts to influence federal and state education policy, establish key partnerships, and provide strategic insights that drive the organization’s goals. This role is critical to shaping the external federal, state and local landscape in alignment with Great Minds’ mission.

The Vice President, Government Relations will lead Great Minds' efforts to influence federal and state education policy, establish key partnerships, and provide strategic insights that drive the organization’s goals. This role is critical to shaping the external federal, state and local landscape in alignment with Great Minds’ mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead policy strategy for Great Minds ensuring there is a comprehensive public policy plan that aligns with company goals and objectives.
- Forge and nurture relationships with public officials, policymakers, and key stakeholders to advance education policy initiatives.
- Oversee contract lobbyists and other partners in targeted geographies to ensure alignment with Great Minds’ policy objectives.
- Establish and communicate federal and state policy priorities, crafting both annual and long-term strategies.
- Leverage knowledge of federal, state, and local policy trends to inform Great Minds’ strategic planning, revenue forecasting, and product development.
- Represent Great Minds by speaking on policy issues in legislative hearings, state board meetings, and nationwide conferences and roundtables.
- 12 years of experience in education policy, government relations, or a related field with 7 years leading high performing policy teams.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven ability to build and sustain influential relationships with policymakers and external partners.
- Expertise in interpreting and responding to policy trends at federal, state, and local levels.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach to complex initiatives.

Salary : $220,000 - $240,000
