Basic Function : The Sales Support Specialist's primary responsibilities include providing an effective and satisfying customer experience by reviewing and processing all order entry needs. This role is responsible for ensuring order are completed by the deadline each day with a high level of accuracy.

Essential Functions :

Sales Order Processing (? 90% of time)

  • Coordinates and processes sales orders including Web, Fax, Email, EDI, and other forms of sales orders for customers.
  • Sends order confirmation(s) to customers via email / fax.
  • Coordinates web order payment reporting to necessary accounting and reporting personnel.
  • Validates all purchase orders including pricing, shipping instructions, quantities, and special instructions.
  • Obtains CO-OP order authorizations for sales order completion.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Inside Sales Support (? 10% of time)

  • Takes inbound phone reception calls and customer service calls.
  • Communicates stock level challenges, pricing errors, and other issues that would impact customer service to supervisor and purchasing department.
  • Assists in monitoring aging sales orders and aging sales return orders.
  • Assists inside sales team with various administrative tasks.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Qualifications and Experience :

    Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of previous data entry, order entry or closely related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a wide variety of customers, Company personnel and others.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient typing skills; must be able to accurately perform order entry tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Preferred

  • Previous sales and / or customer service experience in a call center environment.
  • Business to business sales and / or customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with distribution & ecommerce sales.
  • Work Environment :

  • Office : Office setting is climate controlled and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Salary : $18 - $22
