What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitor Center Attendant - Miami Whitewater Forest position at Great Parks of Hamilton County?
The successful Visitor Center Attendant will greet and serve guests at the Visitor Center. Position frequently includes cash handling and reservation responsibilities. Standard practice allows employee to proceed alone on regular duties with questionable situations referred to supervisor. This part time position works various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks’ policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance, and works outside of normal schedule as required.
- If over 18: drives Great Parks’ vehicle. Essential duties may require the employee to drive their personal vehicle within the park to transport supplies, materials or a cash box to the worksite.
- Greets and serves guests to ensure satisfaction. Handles guest inquiries.
- May assist with set-up and operation of special events.
- Maintains clean and sanitary conditions.
- May transports change orders, merchandise, food, mail and supplies.
- Opens facilities and prepares for daily business. Closes and secures facilities at the end of business day.
- Takes inventory of merchandise and records results.
- Operates point-of-sale system, reservation system, cash box and cash register.
- Sells food and merchandise, maintains merchandise displays, rents equipment, makes reservations and operates motorized equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness of guest and employee areas including restrooms. May include other housekeeping duties.
Skills and Qualifications
- An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Great customer service experience preferred
- Has ability to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills
- Has basic math skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSE OF CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets GPHC current carrier guidelines.
