Great Performances operates Celebrity Chef Alex Guarnaschelli’s new restaurant. This woman-owned business serving New York City for over 40 years is renowned for events catering as well as food service in celebrated New York City cultural institutions, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Apollo Theater and others. Great Performances is the nation’s first caterer to own and operate its own organic farm, Katchkie Farm, located in Kinderhook, NY. We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Food Runner to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure that food is delivered to guests promptly and in excellent condition. You will act as a liaison between the kitchen and the dining area, while maintaining cleanliness, and enhancing the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities
- Ensure prompt and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to guests at the correct table.
- Double-check orders for completeness and presentation before serving.
- Assist in refilling drinks, clearing tables, and responding to guest requests.
- Keep the dining area, service stations, and kitchen pass-through areas clean and organized.
- Replenish plates, utensils, condiments, and other necessary items.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate guest requests to servers or kitchen staff.
- Relay messages between the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests efficiently.
- Report on any issues with food quality or service to the management team immediately.
- Help with setting tables, polishing silverware, and keeping the workflow running smoothly
- Ensure food is presented according to the restaurant’s standards and in compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Answer guest inquiries and provide excellent customer service, including addressing any questions regarding the menu or restaurant offers.

Schedule : Full Time, On-Site
Base salary : $11.00 / hour tips.
