About the Role :
We are seeking a Government Contract & Grants Proposal Specialist to identify, analyze, and respond to government RFPs, as well as pursue grant opportunities (federal, state, corporate, etc) that align with our R&D, technology, and our broader service offerings. In this role, you will develop high-quality proposals and capabilities briefings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and funder requirements. Candidates must demonstrate past success in winning government contracts or grants, and strong writing skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities :
Opportunity Identification
- Monitor and research government procurement portals (e.g., SAM.gov), grant databases (e.g., Grants.gov, Foundation Directory Online), and other relevant platforms for federal, state, corporate, and philanthropic funding opportunities.
- Identify funding opportunities not only in R&D and technology but also for other business lines or service areas.
Proposal & Grant Development
Drive the end-to-end proposal process : from kickoff and content creation to editing, compliance checks, and final submission.Collaborate with cross functional departments (technology, operations, finance, sales etc.) to gather information, refine technical narratives, and ensure the proposal meets all solicitation requirements.Develop capabilities briefings and supporting documents that effectively highlight our organization’s experience, past performance, and value proposition across various service offerings.Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain strict adherence to regulations (e.g., FAR / DFARS) and funder guidelines, ensuring all proposals and budgets are accurate and compliant.Oversee internal quality-control processes, such as comprehensive review, editing, and sign-off procedures.Oversee timely submission of deliverables and reports to government agencies and / or funders; support internal audits on pricing, performance, and regulatory compliance.Grant Writing & Management
Craft compelling grant proposals for a range of funders, detailing the value of your projects, the impact on target communities / markets, and the alignment with funder priorities.Manage post-award requirements for grants, including progress reports, budget tracking, and compliance documentation.Financial & Budget Analysis
Partner with Finance and Operations to create cost proposals and pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.Conduct ROI analyses to decide whether specific opportunities align with organizational goals.Collaboration & Coordination
Coordinate proposal inputs from multidisciplinary teams (e.g., engineering, software development, operations, sales, legal) for both new and existing service lines.Serve as the central point of contact for proposal teams, ensuring everyone stays aligned on deadlines, deliverables, and priorities.Relationship Building
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, prime contractors, and philanthropic, corporate organizations etc.Stay informed on changing regulations, procurement trends, and best practices in contract and grant management.Performance & Process Improvement
Track success rates and glean insights from previous submissions to continuously improve our approach.Keep updated templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures for efficient proposal and grant processes.Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, English, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or certifications in proposal management are a plus).Experience :
Proven track record of winning government contracts or grants (federal, state, corporate, philanthropic).Familiarity with pricing structures, contract drafting, and negotiation in federal / defense contracting or equivalent.Skills & Competencies :
Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content.Familiarity with government procurement regulations (FAR / DFARS) and grant compliance requirements.Project management skills, capable of handling multiple competing priorities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of proposal automation or project management tools.Strategic thinking to align funding opportunities with organizational objectives in various service offerings.Benefits
