Summary: GPB is seeking a seasoned and dedicated professional to join our team as an Assistant Branch Manager. As the Assistant Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall success of the branch, reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader with a proven track record in financial services to contribute to the growth and efficiency of our full-service branch.
The Assistant Branch Manager is a leveled position, beginning with Level 1 and advancing to Level 3 that focuses on product sales, customer service, and team development. Level 4 is reserved for team members that have met the qualifications to advance into a Branch Manager position. The Assistant Branch Manager is eligible to participate in the Team Incentive Plan (TIP).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Operational Leadership:
- Assist in managing all branch functions, ensuring daily operations run smoothly.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager in overseeing HR activities, including scheduling, hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and pay decisions.
- Evaluate and improve work procedures, preparing schedules, and expediting workflow.
2. Employee Development:
- Mentor and support branch staff, holding them accountable for service and sales goals.
- Provide training in sales, services, operations, products, policies, procedures, and customer service.
- Ensure employees are aware of policy/procedure changes, fraud alerts, and other relevant updates.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
- Be an effective ambassador of our organization, building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities for promoting products and services to deepen customer relationships.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
4. Strategic Initiatives:
- Contribute to the development and management of a branch business plan aimed at achieving specific goals.
- Actively participate in outbound calls, in-branch selling, telemarketing, branch campaigns, and targeted direct mailing.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager to assess areas of need for enhancing customer relationships.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the branch complies with all regulatory standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager to implement strategies for maintaining regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities
May assist the Branch Manager in supervising 6 to 10 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree from two-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees, customers and the general public. Ability to calculate basic math figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.
Physical Demands
This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must possess the ability to lift and carry cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds.
