Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Compliance Officer in examining, evaluating, and reporting on the banks compliance with state and federal consumer protection regulations, safety and soundness regulations, guidelines, and monitoring for compliance with policies and procedures and related internal controls in the Bank.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Supports the development, implementation and revisions to the Compliance program and policy as needed.
- Supports the development and implementation of training programs that teach employees about Compliance regulations and procedures.
- Assist with compliance-related reviews as required ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and interagency guidelines as part of the banks Compliance Monitoring program.
- Assist with reviews on the banks compliance function with internal bank policies and procedures.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
- Responsible for secondary review of all HMDA related fields within the Loan Origination System.
- Report findings of violations or exceptions of policy and/or regulations to the Audit Committee.
- Assist with the review and approval of marketing materials for compliance regarding promotion of the bank's products and services.
- Assist the Compliance Officer with Fair Lending monitoring and tracking using the banks software (Centrax).
- Assists Compliance Officer in coordinating audit responses from management on Compliance audits; follows up to ensure proper action by management and clearance of all exceptions.
- Assist in implementing and overseeing compliance monitoring program and related reporting function.
- Provide guidance, interpretation, and research concerning Compliance related issues.
- Assists in facilitating compliance training program and ensure attendance by all Bank employees.
- Stay abreast of changes in banking regulations.
- Assist in preparing documentation for and coordination of examinations by regulatory agencies and external auditors.
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise of banking regulations and financial principles and supports the Companys overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Interacts in a professional, courteous manner with employees, Management and Board members.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Some college preferred along with three to five years of banking experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.
Physical Demands
This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must possess the ability to lift and carry cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds.
