Description
Summary: Performs computer data entry and various accounting and clerical functions associated with the bank’s centralized data processing center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data into various bank software programs by following the format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.

Compares data entered with source documents, or reenters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.

Makes necessary corrections to information entered.

Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.

Keeps record of work completed.

Scans and Archives data

Reviews reports and enters corrections into computer.

Responds to employee inquiries.

Reconciles bank deposit account totals to general ledger

Processes automatic clearing house (ACH) files and posts to in-house banking program

Processes checks to be returned or charged-back.

Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfers.

Confers with correspondent banks either by phone or through electronic file transmission to send and receive data files.

Processes customers mail returned to data processing by U. S. Postal Service.

Provides backup duties for other Data Center employees
Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees, customers and the general public. Ability to calculate basic math figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.
Physical Demands
This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must possess the ability to lift and carry boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds. The environment would be consistent with a typical business office with moderate noise, and the ability to work in a confined area typically indoors.
