Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician assumes responsibility and accountability for actions, which include, but are not limited to: training and assisting in any and all maintenance installation or repairs, efficiency tests on equipment, and chemical tests on boilers and chillers. Minimum Qualifications â—¾ Education High school degree or equivalent preferred. Must be at least 17 years old. â—¾ Credentials Must possess and maintain valid driver's license. CPI required. Work Environment Works throughout medical center. Works outdoors occasionally. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme heat and cold, confined area, noise, medical gasses, dangerous fumes, and high voltage. Physical Demands Stand or walk entire shift. Lifts and/or carries up to 50 pounds several times per day. Pushes and/or pulls cart to transport supplies and equipment to and from job site. Climbs ladder and several flights of stairs daily. Bends, reaches, stoops, kneels and crawls throughout shift. Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination required. Required to drive an automobile daily.

Essential Functions Assists with preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks as assigned. Demonstrates safe and competent use of equipment. Demonstrates proper use of software applications to carry out duties. Trains in repairs, inspections, and maintenance of all building systems including boilers, HVAC, emergency power, medical gases, electrical and mechanical as directed. Supports Biomedical Technician in inspections and repairs as needed.
