Certification Details ACLS BLS NIHSS Job Details Job Summary : Critical Care nursing position at Great Plains Health, focusing on PCU with float to ICU. Department : Critical Care Number of Beds : 32 Nurse / Patient Ratios : ICU 1 : 2, PCU 1 : 4, MedSurg 1 : 5 Common diagnoses include : Heavy cath lab procedures, sepsis, neurosurgery, drug & alcohol abuse, COPD, CHF. Job Requirements Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Experience : First time traveler okay. Prefer ICU background, otherwise must have PCU background. Must be able to titrate drips. Comfortable taking PCU (1 : 4) or MedSurg (1 : 5) patients. Schedule Information 12Hr shifts : 545a-6p & 545p-6a Schedule is out for 6-weeks at a time, 2 weeks in advance. Weekend Requirements : At least every other, if not most all weekends Holiday Requirements : Varies, but usually will staff into holidays as needed. Unit Specific Information Floating Requirements : No floating outside of this mixed unit. Scrub Color : Royal blue scrubs. Unit specific orientation includes hospital orientation and training for 2 shifts on the unit. Additional Details Charge Nurse on each shift : 1 charge nurse every shift, only takes patients if necessary. Hospitalist in house 24 / 7 for their patients. RT in ICU 24 / 7 with necessary equipment.
