Great Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking a 1st Shift Paint Supervisor to join our team at our new Construction Equipment facility in Salina, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus overtime on Fridays, as required.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data, such as types, quantities, and specifications of products in order to plan department operations.
- Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for paint, utilizing knowledge of production processes and methods, and machine and equipment capabilities.
- Prepare operational schedules and coordinates paint activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve paint problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Ensure all preventative maintenance is completed on time.
- Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Compile, store, and retrieve production data using a computer.
- Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
- Complete measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Train employees in all aspects of the system and in all job functions.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in all phases of the paint department strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret the drawings
- Proficient in measuring instrument operation
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
