Tool & Die Tool Maker "A" – Assaria, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing currently has an opening for an Experienced Tool & Die “A” Tool Maker in the Product Development Tool & Die Department in Assaria, KS.
The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus overtime on Fridays, as required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Great Plains Manufacturing currently has an opening for an Experienced Tool & Die “A” Tool Maker in the Product Development Tool & Die Department in Assaria, KS.
The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus overtime on Fridays, as required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform Die Maintenance & Repair within the T&D department in Assaria
- Drive company vehicle to production plants, including Salina, Ellsworth, Abilene East & Abilene West, plus other facilities, as required, to troubleshoot, perform minor repairs that can be done at the plant & transport dies to and from Assaria on an as-needed basis
- New construction and repair of a variety of tooling including injection molds, casting patterns, form dies, mill fixtures, rotational molds and misc. other tooling.
- Safely setup and operation of manual lathes and mills, drill press, hydraulic press, surface grinder, Haas lathe, Haas and Hurco CNC 3 axis mills.
- Ability to work with tooling designer, read & check tooling parts to prints & travel to production plants for tooling tryout.
- May be required to machine weld fixtures and prototype parts for R&D on an as-needed basis.
- Precision measuring tools are required for this position and will need to be purchased in a timely manner (tooling list can be provided).
- Perform your duties everyday with Safety in mind at all times and follow all safety procedures implemented by Great Plains/Kubota.
- 5 years of Tool & Die or Machine Shop experience preferred
- 5 years of experience operating CNC 3 axis mill and CNC lathe preferred
- Must be a Strong Team Player & Self Stater with attention to details
- Ability to read and follow prints and written instructions
- Ability to work to Great Plains tooling standards and processes
- Experience with manufacturing of forming dies, injection molds, casting tools and roto molds
- Knowledge of press brake and punch press operation preferred
- Knowledge of selection, machinability & heat treating of tool steels preferred
- Possess basic computer skills such as but not limited to Outlook, Excel & Word
- Must have valid driver’s license in order to drive company vehicle
