CE Field Service Quality Assurance Specialist

The Construction Equipment (CE) Division of Great Plains Manufacturing (GPM) is seeking a Field Quality Assurance Specialist to join our CE Service Team. This position will be responsible for driving quality improvement initiatives on current and new Kubota power units manufactured by GPM, such as the SCL1000, SVL65 and newly developed products. They will be challenged to find and respond to field problems, analyze and determine the root cause, and provide effective solutions.
The CE Service group is based in Salina, KS at the CE Division of GPM. This position works Mon-Thurs from 7:00am to 4:30pm, Fri 7:00am to 11:00am, plus occasional overtime, as required. This role reports to the CE Service Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promptly and accurately respond to all high priority customer Power Unit issues as submitted through the Kubota Flash Report (FR) system
- Lead and perform all investigations of failed service parts, both at the component level as well as part of an operating machine
- Analyze and resolve each reported field product quality issue by driving to a specific Root Cause
- Identify, test and validate all Countermeasures to correct the reported field quality issue
- Work with the appropriate department to develop an effective Corrective Action for each identified issue and routinely monitor the CA effectiveness.
- Escalate unresolved external quality issues as appropriate to facilitate resolution
- Serve as the final approval for all corrective/preventive action reports and Flash Reports from Kubota
- Lead author for Quality specific Service Bulletins corresponding to all GPM-CE Power Units field issues
- Oversight of all GPM-CE Power Unit product warranty processing and resolution
- Maintain Warranty and Service problem tracking documents, such as the Kubota A4 Issue Tracking sheet and monthly Warranty Status reports
- Responsible for the development and coordination of all Warranty Supplier Recovery activities
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends on current products
- Serve as the lead in coordinating with all respective departments targeted Customer Satisfaction Surveys for newly released machines
- Serve as the lead in conducting Field Quality Surveys by traveling to the customer’s site and investigating the reported quality issue
- Willingness to travel up to 15% on short notice including overnight stays as necessary

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a manufacturing facility as part of a service, support or quality department
- Agriculture, Construction or Heavy equipment experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills
- Must be very detail oriented with proven problem solving and root cause analysis skills
- Must have a strong, customer-focused mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and divisions within the GPM manufacturing environment (i.e. manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, quality, etc.)
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, AS 400, IBMI, CRM, Windchill, and other GPM Computer systems
- Ability to read and understand Engineering Prints and Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
