R&D B Person – Abilene, KS
Great Plains Mfg is looking for an R&D B Person for its Abilene West facility in Abilene, KS. This position will fabricate, machine, weld, assemble and test components of experimental products.
This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and repair basic weld fixtures for production
- Build basic prototypes for the product development team
- Assemble prototypes as needed
- Read, interpret and work from engineering prints
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to weld and operate a cutting torch or hand-held plasma torch
- Ability to operate fabrication equipment to include HAAS, lathe, plasma torch, saw and vertical mill – some training will be provided
- Forklift license or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to read blueprints and standard measuring devices
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Supply necessary hand tools, including some precision tools
- Basic computer skills helpful
