Position Summary
The Dietetic Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient meal and nourishment selections in accordance with diet orders and nutrition interventions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program.
Credentials
State Required : None
GPH Required / Preferred : None
Physical Demands
Stand and / or walk constantly.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Climb small ladder occasionally.
Push / pull up to 50 lbs. force frequently.
Bend, reach, stoop and kneel occasionally
Eye hand coordination occasionally.
Reach shoulder height constantly.
Essential Functions
Enters patient meal requests accurately in accordance with diet order score
May assist tray line building patient trays.
May assist in preparing food items for meal prep.
May assist serving trays to patients.
May assist in removal of trays from patient rooms and report or chart intake of meals, snacks and supplements
Communicates patient’s special needs, diet preferences or changes to Dietitian for follow up.
Track supplement stock and build weekly order form.
May assist Dietitian with assessments upon completion of an ADA certified program as a Dietetic Technician.
