Great Plains SPCA is searching for an Senior Pet Adoptions Advisor for the Merriam, Kansas location. Position Summary : This results-focused position ensures our pets find the right homes. Our matchmaking approach is centered on creating safe and lasting adoptions.
Pay Range : $20-26 per hour
Schedule : 5 days per week, including both weekend days
Status : Full-time | Non-exempt
Responsibilities
Drive results by performing safe and successful pet adoptions using excellent matchmaking and customer service skillsMatchmaking pets with prospective adopters by utilizing data gathered through asking appropriate questions, meet and greets, and understanding each pet’s medical and behavioral needs to ensure best fitMaintaining up to date knowledge of all pets in our care and all adoption policies and proceduresAchieve monthly adoption, donation and retail goalsAdministrative duties include data entry, inventory management, data analysis and reportingManage adoption process from start to finish, including all paperworkProblem solve and think creatively to drive positive outcomes for customers and animals in our careEnsure efficient and effective interdepartmental communication, procedures, and processesProvide best in class customer experience to all visitors, volunteers and staffAbility to diffuse conflict and de-escalate situations when necessary, including denying adoptions in a courteous and respectful mannerShare information to the public on all GPSPCA services and programs, communicating the organization’s culture, philosophies, and mission in a positive mannerMonitor health and behavior of adoptable animals, reporting concerns to Shelter Medicine or Behavior teams as neededEnsure the adoptions area is always clean and tidyOther duties as assigned by managers or directorsQualifications

High school diploma or GED3 years of related sales and customer service experience in a fast-paced corporate environmentMust be familiar with computer functions and programs such as Internet and web-based programs, Microsoft Office, and PetPointKnowledge and work-related experience with animalsAdditional Requirements :
Possess a valid driver’s licenseHandle and restrain animals weighing up to 100 lbs.Lift 50 lbs. to waist heightFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, carrying, and reachingMust be comfortable working with dogs and cats of all ages and temperamentsBilingual preferred (English / Spanish)Work Conditions :
