Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards and EPA regulations.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents to determine underlying issues and develop corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance audits for management review.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Maintain and update driver files to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Ensure all vehicles, trailers, and equipment meet DOT requirements and are properly documented.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, including regular safety meetings, training sessions, and evaluations.
- Investigate accidents, damage to trucks, trailers, or equipment, and develop corrective actions.
- Implement safe driving policies and procedures for all drivers.
- Assist with DOT audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Stay informed of changes to DOT regulations and update company policies as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to drivers regarding safety protocols and compliance.
- Collaborate with management to improve company-wide safety standards and ensure consistent application across all departments.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a safety coordinator role or similar position in the transportation or trucking industry.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively train, educate, and motivate employees on safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with safety management software is a plus.
Salary:
Salary will be discussed during the interview process based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
