What you will do
- Participates in education of volunteers, students, and new employees in regard to general function and flow of the rehabilitation services department and emergency preparedness. Educates pre-op patients as indicated under the direction of clinical staff.
- Prepares, cleans and disinfects treatment area including booths and equipment used for patient treatments per policy
- Assists in clinical treatments by setting patients up on hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation and cardiovascular equipment as directed by licensed clinician.
- Assists rehabilitation clinical staff with inpatient care by pushing IV poles, assisting in transfers and pushing wheelchairs behind patients who are walking to improve safety.
- Provides orientation to other health system employees on use of exercise equipment and rules.
- Assess department weekly for supplies including linen, cleaning products and pharmacy items and general rehabilitation supplies to ensure proper departmental stock so there is no break in patient care. Understands how to order stock supplies on Workday and corresponds with Materials Management department on a timely and routine basis.
- Assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment including preventative maintenance, cleaning hydrocollators and ice pack machines, and submitting necessary work orders. Assesses department for survey readiness and checks for outdates department wide. Competent in completing first hour readiness audit in Vigilanz.
- Understands how to build EHR schedules for clinicians, block schedules for PTO and other absences and general schedule flow for rehab department. Calls patients to change appointment times if needed such as inclement weather or staff illnesses.
- Monitors and records temperature log and cleaning schedules for hydrocollators, ice pack machines and other equipment as indicated.
- Maintains competency in monitoring pool chemicals and completes logs per requirements.
- Able to fax necessary documents, answer the phone with proper phone etiquette, and file in an organized and efficient manner.
- Attends necessary staff and health system meetings and safety in-services. Willing to attend safety huddles when manager is absent.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- 1-3 years Experience in rehabilitation related activities is helpful. Preferred
- Knowledge of arithmetic
- Communication

- Understanding of Microsoft Outlook & OWA

Qualifications:
HCHC: Assure functional outcome measure tests are provided to patient and clinical staff prior to evaluation and during episode of care as needed. Monitor schedule for prescribed frequency and duration of rehab patient treatments and alert manager or clinical staff if proper visits are not being met.
