Role Summary
The primary role of the Procurement Buyer & Inventory Coordinator is to manage all aspects of materials flow and maintain control and accuracy over all material inventories (including fleet), all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, delivery, receiving, shipping, etc. to ensure that orders are fulfilled on time and our internal teams and business operations are running smoothly. The role is also responsible for managing and developing supplier relationships that support the Great River Hydro assets and employees.
This role travels extensively to GRH offices and facilities located in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Limited overnight and out of the region travel could be required.
Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the Great River Hydro inventory management program;
- Performs analysis on historical materials usage to develop and execute forecasting;
- Manages shared tools including but not limited to location tracking, calibrating and scheduling external maintenance as needed;
- Collaborates internally and externally to ensure inventory levels are appropriate and obsolete inventory is being eliminated in a timely fashion;
- Processes low to medium risk Purchase Orders;
- Manages Fleet via external vendor;
- Applies a continuous improvement mindset to the inventory control system and fleet management by identifying discrepancies and taking corrective action to prevent future inconsistencies;
- Ensures all relevant documentation is retained and software systems are updated in accordance with Great River Hydro expectations;
- Coordinates security key management; and
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
