Role Summary :
As a member of the engineering team, the Senior Engineering / SCADA Specialist supports the tasks of the group by being actively involved in all phases of planned projects as well as assisting maintenance with any day-to-day issues involving machinery and / or circuitry. This position also performs a variety of tasks, including being a subject matter expert on all things SCADA while assisting field technicians with troubleshooting, communicating recommendations, and creating and updating internal documentation.
This role travels as needed to company offices and facilities located in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Limited overnight and out of the region travel could be required.
Responsibilities
- Modifies / updates prints and online records and electronically categorizes information as well as delivering electronic and physical copies to other areas;
- Assists in the design of circuitry and associated devices;
- Assists Maintenance staff and local leadership in resolving issues and / or concerns related to equipment and circuitry;
- Writes and / or reviews technical papers for projects or clarification of maintenance issues;
- Communicates recommendations to management in a way that fosters consensus and facilitates favorable project outcomes;
- Ensures relevant documentation is retained in accordance with company expectations including reference manuals and other related information;
- Analyzes, modifies, and troubleshoots RTU, PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs;
- Assists field technicians with troubleshooting equipment and / or programming problems;
- Partners with areas / operations teams to ensure SCADA related costs are supported in related project / department operating budgets;
- Identifies risks associated with equipment / programs;
- Evaluates and recommends various contractors and / or technical service providers;
- Solicits internal and / or external expertise when outside of core technical capabilities; and
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
