Job Summary:
The Construction Punch Technician will be responsible for inspecting newly constructed homes to identify and rectify any defects, incomplete work, or deficiencies before final delivery to clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review construction project plans and specifications to identify incomplete or defective work.
- Compile and manage a punch list detailing items requiring correction or completion before final project acceptance.
- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to assess the quality of workmanship and compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Document findings and communicate issues to project managers and subcontractors.
- Verify that corrective actions are completed satisfactorily and in accordance with project specifications.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills to identify defects and quality issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with subcontractors, project managers, and clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficiency in using mobile devices and construction management software for documenting punch list items and tracking progress.
- Physical ability to perform site inspections, including climbing stairs, walking on uneven terrain, and lifting objects as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in construction management or related field preferred.
- 2 plus years experience in construction inspection, quality control, or a similar role within the construction industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/driving and standing.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
