What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Host position at Great Southern Restaurant?
Your role as a Lead Host at Great Southern Restaurants (GSR) is extremely important to our success. Your speed and efficiency are imperative to the smooth operation of the restaurant and satisfaction of our guests. It is our goal to train you extensively on how to perform your job, and to provide you with the necessary tools and equipment to complete your daily duties.
What you’ll be doing to make an impact at GSRs:
- Welcoming and greet guests as well as thank them and invite them to return.
- Exemplifying hospitality standards, practicing “name magic” and making guest satisfaction a priority.
- Performing designated set-up and housekeeping duties around the restaurant and host stand such as maintaining cleanliness of the floors, bathrooms, foyer area, and windows.
- Using proper telephone etiquette and techniques for taking messages, reservations, inquiries, etc.
- Functioning as an information center: demonstrating knowledge of products, gift cards, directions, large party procedures, host training, application procedures, wait times, and events.
- Performing seating functions competently: Leading guests to the correct table, handing out menus, pulling out chairs, etc.
- Performing other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- One year of hosting experience preferred.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to:
- Standing and walking during an entire shift, averaging to 5 hours per shift.
- Reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, and carrying supplies up to 25 pounds in weight.
- A team player’s mentality with good communication skills and the ability to stay positive under pressure.
