Summary
A Utility Worker is responsible for ensuring that buildings and the areas surrounding them are clean, well-lit, functional and safe. To this end, a Utility Worker job description may include the following duties:
Essential Duties:
- Maintain all areas of the plant clear of excessive wood and debris
- Ensure grass areas are kept cut and free of debris.
- Sweep walk-paths and empty all garbage bins throughout the plant.
- Production office areas that do not have carpet are to be mopped weekly.
- Breakroom is to be cleaned and restocked twice daily to include wiping down, tables, counters, microwave, sink areas. Garbage cans in the breakroom are to be cleaned and emptied once a day.
- Restrooms located in the breakroom building are to be cleaned 2 times a day. The restroom in the treating office is to be cleaned once a week.
- Restock restroom paper and soap as needed and check to make sure the toilets are in working order.
- Paint inside and outside structures as instructed by management.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as directed.
- Maintain the supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.
- Follow all health and safety rules.
Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter and work independently with limited supervision.
- Proven working experience performing cleaning and upkeep tasks.
- Experience in painting
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Have a good working knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices
- Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English language.
Education and/or Experience:
- Hight school degree required
