Summary

A Utility Worker is responsible for ensuring that buildings and the areas surrounding them are clean, well-lit, functional and safe. To this end, a Utility Worker job description may include the following duties:

Essential Duties:

• Maintain all areas of the plant clear of excessive wood and debris
• Ensure grass areas are kept cut and free of debris.
• Sweep walk-paths and empty all garbage bins throughout the plant.
• Production office areas that do not have carpet are to be mopped weekly.
• Breakroom is to be cleaned and restocked twice daily to include wiping down, tables, counters, microwave, sink areas. Garbage cans in the breakroom are to be cleaned and emptied once a day.
• Restrooms located in the breakroom building are to be cleaned 2 times a day. The restroom in the treating office is to be cleaned once a week.
• Restock restroom paper and soap as needed and check to make sure the toilets are in working order.
• Paint inside and outside structures as instructed by management.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as directed.
• Maintain the supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.
• Follow all health and safety rules.

Qualifications:

• Must be a self-starter and work independently with limited supervision.
• Proven working experience performing cleaning and upkeep tasks.
• Experience in painting
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Have a good working knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices
• Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English language.

Education and/or Experience:

• Hight school degree required
