Monday - Friday 12pm - 8:30pm
Qualifications and Requirements:
· DOJ Live Scan Clearance.
· Tuberculosis Clearance or Risk Assessment (Completed by a licensed healthcare provider).
· Mandatory School Employee Training.
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Maintain a valid CA Driver’s License-Class C.
· Custodial and landscaping experience preferred.
· Workplace hazardous materials experience preferred.
Summary of Position:
Under supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, cleanliness and safety of school facilities and grounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Clean and sanitize school restrooms daily
· Vacuum classrooms daily
· Remove classroom and campus trash daily
· Repair and clean and maintain all school facilities and grounds
· Makes general repairs including fencing, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.
· Maintain security of all school facilities and grounds
· Always be aware of the safety of children at all times.
· Make sure all work areas are marked with caution tape, and no tools or equipment are left unattended
· Operation of yard and landscape equipment for routine landscape maintenance including a ride on lawn mower for 10 acres of grass
· Move and arrange furniture and equipment
· Effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships
· Retrieve boxes from office and deliver
· Order supplies for bathrooms when needed
· Supply classrooms with necessary custodial supplies
· Set up for GVA after (or before) school events as needed
· Maintain good verbal/written communication amongst staff, parents and students
· Use standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
· Cleans after student illnesses and accidents
· Cleans school kitchen to required standards
· Maintains required level of sanitation on school grounds
· Comply with all Great Valley Academy policies and procedures
· Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Employees in this position must be able/have the ability to:
· See for the purposes monitoring duties and reading printed materials
· Hear and understand speech at normal levels
· Stand for extended periods of time inside and outside
· Walk, twist, stoop, kneel, and bend over
· Reach overhead, grasp, and push/pull
· Lift up to 75lbs
· Climbing, crawling, hand eye and mind eye coordination, repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers
· Maintain a professional personal appearance as representative to the public for the school
Work Environment:
· Employees in this position will be required to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
· Employees will come in direct contact with students, parents, school site staff and public.
