What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor of Student Services position at Great Valley School District?
- Master's Degree, Doctorate or credit earned toward a doctoral degree in education, school counseling or school psychology
- PDE Administrative or Supervisory certification with strong experience in Student Services.
- Work cooperatively with the building principals in supervising school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers/home school visitors, and school health professionals
- Work with Local Intermediate Units and other agencies in supervising staff who provide educational programming, and related services including Occupational and Physical therapy, Hearing and Vision therapy, Orientation and Mobility Training, and Mental Health Counseling
- Collaborate with district personnel to support the pre-referral processes within the MTSS framework, ensuring mental health and social-emotional support is provided
- Provide clinical oversight and supervision of the implementation of Crisis Intervention and Threat and Risk Assessment procedures across the district, including support of school-based crisis management teams
- Provide support for the Safe2Say program
- Assist with planning and implementation of pre-referral Occupational Therapy intervention (RTII)
- Provide leadership in the oversight and coordination of evaluations for students suspected of needing special education, 504 accommodations, or gifted education services, including the gifted screening process
- Support student attendance intervention across the District (i.e. SAIPs)
- Work in collaboration with the Database Specialist to collect, verify, and submit truancy data within the Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS)
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Student Services to coordinate the process for independent evaluation requests
- Provide Professional Development for all student services staff (Social Workers, Psychologists, School Counselors, and School Health Professionals)
- Oversight of SAP, CSTAG, McKinney Vento, Foster Care and Homebound Education.
- Assist the Title IX Coorinator with investigations involving students
- Coordinate the administration and analysis of the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS)
- Assist in grant writing efforts related to student services programs and initiatives
- Serve as a Local Education Agency (LEA) representative to support building level needs
- Working knowledge of all legal requirements relative to PA Special Education Regulations and Standards (Chapter 14) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Chapter 15)
